Business cards are the highest-volume job we run and the one place we lean hardest on the Windmill’s speed rather than the Vandercook’s control — a proof press like the Vandercook is the wrong tool once you’re running several hundred identical small-format sheets and need consistent, repeatable impression across the whole run, not per-sheet hand feed.

We duplex two sheets of Cotton Rag 220gsm face-to-face (roughly 440gsm combined) rather than sourcing a single heavier sheet, because duplexing lets the card’s edge show a visible “deckle” of two distinct plies if the client wants that detail, and because Cotton Rag at true 440gsm as a single sheet doesn’t exist as a stock we can buy — duplexing is the only practical way to get there. Standard turnaround is two weeks from locked-up artwork; rush runs are possible but requoted separately since they mean bumping a scheduled Windmill run.
