Kraft-Tone is a recycled, visibly-textured stock — you can see flecks and fiber variation in the sheet under raking light, which is exactly why we reach for it instead of Cotton Rag when a client’s brief says “rustic” or “unpretentious” rather than “formal.” It doesn’t take as crisp an impression edge as a smooth cotton stock; the type looks slightly more worn even printed fresh, which is a feature here, not a defect to correct.
At 130gsm text weight it’s meant for single-sheet broadsides and menus rather than duplexing into card stock — trying to duplex it produces a visibly uneven bond line because the fiber texture doesn’t glue as flat as a smoother sheet. We stock it in its natural kraft tone only; French Paper makes tinted versions but we’ve found the natural tone is the one that actually earns its keep against our spot-red ink.
